How long did you think it was going to take Alphonso Davies and Harry Kane to develop world-class chemistry?

The Canadian superstar has forged quite the partnership with the England captain. On Sunday, Bayern’s English-speaking super duo connected for the second time this season with the Canadian men’s national team star assisting Bayern’s €100 million man on his second goal in Sunday’s 3-1 win over FC Augsburg.

Davies worked a cheeky one-two passing play with French winger Kingsley Coman on the left touchline, blew past his Augsburg defender, and then laid a perfect weighted ball for Kane to smash home his second goal of the night.

It was Davies’ third assist of the season, which should silence any doubters who thought he was on the decline after battling injuries this spring and summer, and with the rumours and links to Real Madrid dominating the headlines for much of the summer.

Davies and Kane connected on the opening day of the Bundesliga season with the Canadian serving the England captain on a platter for his first Bundesliga goal.

Kane, who scored from the penalty spot earlier in the match, is only the third Bayern player to score three goals in his first two Bundesliga games. Gustav Jung did it in 1967 and Adolfo Valencia matched the feat in 1993. Thank you, Opta.

Bayern are back in action next Saturday when they visit Borussia Mönchengladbach. You can watch the Bundesliga in Canada all season long on DAZN.
