Jordyn Huitema is staying at the OL Reign for the foreseeable future.

The NWSL club announced on Friday it has exercised the 2024 option on the Canadian striker’s contract, meaning that she will stay in Seattle for the 2024 season.

Huitema joined the Reign midway through the 2022 season in June after three years with her first pro club, French giants Paris Saint-Germain. She got two goals and two assists in her first half-season at the club and has stepped up her production rate significantly this season, scoring five goals in 16 NWSL appearances (12 starts) and netting another two in four NWSL Challenge Cup games as the Reign won the West division.

Put simply, she’s been one of the most in-form CanWNT strikers in 2023, so it’s no wonder her club want her to stick around.

“I’m so excited to stay in Seattle and continue playing for this club,” said Huitema, who also has 16 goals and six assists in 67 caps (26 starts) for the Canadian women’s national team.

“Being able to train and play in such a highly competitive environment daily has helped me develop as a professional, so I’m really looking forward to what next year brings.”
